Lasso vs CrispCheckout vs Pendym

A fair side-by-side of the three tools that put a Whop-powered checkout on a Shopify store: how each connects, pricing as published, setup effort, custom domains, subscriptions and languages.

Three tools put a Whop-powered checkout in front of a Shopify store: Lasso, CrispCheckout and Pendym. We make one of them, so read this knowing that. To keep it fair, every cell about a competitor comes from that company's own public pages or from Whop's documentation, checked on 19 September 2026, and where we could not verify something the cell says "not published" instead of guessing.

A note on sources. Lasso's own website did not load when we checked on 19 September 2026, so nothing here is taken from it. What follows comes from the integration guide for Lasso that Whop published in its documentation. That page has since been removed from Whop's docs, so we read the copy archived in April 2026, which is linked at the end. Details may have changed since then. Confirm anything that matters with Lasso directly.

When Lasso is the better choice

Lasso is the integration Whop itself documented, with Whop staff involved in onboarding. Whop's archived guide described negotiated terms for stores with high volume and low dispute rates. If you run a large store, want a direct relationship with Whop's team, or want to route between several processors and not only Whop, Lasso is built for that and Pendym is not.

When CrispCheckout is the better choice

CrispCheckout lets you build and test the whole checkout for free before paying, and its builder lists conversion blocks such as timers, testimonials and raw HTML. It lists Apple Pay and Google Pay, and its subscription plan lists free trials and a self-serve customer portal. If those are central to how you sell, it has them on its feature list today.

When Pendym is the better choice

  • You do not want a monthly fee. At $10,000 a month in sales, 0.5% is $50 and that is the whole bill from Pendym.
  • You sell subscriptions and do not want them on a higher plan.
  • You sell in more than one language. The checkout is translated into 18 and follows the buyer's storefront language.
  • You want pricing at the checkout to be Shopify's own: live shipping rates, tax, discount codes and Markets currencies.
  • You want to try it without committing. Nothing changes for buyers until you paste the theme line, and one switch in Settings turns it off.

What all three have in common

Whichever checkout you pick, the money runs through Whop, and Whop has its own rules. It publishes a list of prohibited and restricted businesses, it reviews accounts at several points including first payment and first payout, and it can place a rolling or fixed reserve on an account it considers risky. No checkout tool in front of Whop changes that, and none is a way to sell something a processor does not allow.

All three also replace the checkout page and do not add a gateway inside Shopify's checkout, which means anything that lives on Shopify's checkout page stops applying. With Pendym specifically, the Shop Pay, PayPal and Google Pay express buttons in the cart are hidden while it is on, and Shopify gift cards cannot be redeemed at the checkout.

If Pendym is the one that fits, setup is four steps and there is no monthly fee.

Questions people ask

Which is cheapest: Lasso, CrispCheckout or Pendym?
On published figures checked on 19 September 2026, Pendym: no monthly fee and 0.5% per order. CrispCheckout's site lists $99 a month plus 0.5%, or $199 a month plus 0.5% with subscriptions. Lasso's current pricing is not published on a page we could load, and Whop's archived guide listed 1% plus $199 a month per store. Whop's own processing fees apply with all three.
Do all three work with Whop?
Yes. Each puts a hosted checkout in front of a Shopify store and charges the card through the merchant's own Whop account. Lasso's site description also mentions more than 20 other processors.
Which of the three supports subscriptions?
CrispCheckout lists subscriptions on its $199 a month plan, with free trials and a customer portal. Pendym includes subscriptions at no extra cost by turning Shopify selling plans into recurring Whop plans. Whether Lasso supports subscriptions is not published in the sources we could read.
Which has a translated checkout?
Pendym's checkout is translated into 18 languages and follows the buyer's storefront language. Neither Lasso's nor CrispCheckout's public pages mentioned checkout translations when we checked, so we list those as not published.
Is this comparison biased?
We make Pendym, so treat it as one input. Competitor cells come only from their own public pages or Whop's documentation, the sources are linked, and the page says where each competitor is the better choice. Check the sources yourself before deciding.
